The HR team of Apollo Tyres contacted us with a design problem. Their Corporate Policy Handbook was a 90-page e-book filled with text and minimum visual elements that would make the new joiners and employees feel overwhelmed and uninterested in reading the book. This led to a collaborative decision of re-designing the Corporate Policy Handbook of Apollo Tyres APMEA region after almost 15 years keeping “Unique, Friendly, Vibrant yet Professional” as the visual cues.
Even though the design approach was fresh, our challenge was retain the prominence of the purple brand colour. Hence, a colour palette of bright gradients was developed using the brand color as the primary hue. To support and differentiate all the policies in the book, we assigned each chapter a specific accent colour that was used to create a set of customised illustrations, throughout the book. The digital publication was a collaborative effort with New Delhi based designer & illustrator, Megha Sharma (@bewakoofladki).
A colour-coded left panel enabled the viewer to easily navigate between different policies and sub-policies.
What They Had To Say
We were happy working with our design partner - Studio Twine. They have always been able to take an idea and turn it into something amazing. The team holds excellent creative skills. We collaborated with them to design the Corporate Policy Handbook of Apollo Tyres. As a requirement, this is an extensive piece of work detailing more than 25 policies, which should be subtle in language yet creative enough for constant reading engagement.
Studio Twine has been able to design the handbook in the most appropriate way. The outcomes exceeded what we had imagined and we have received good compliments from our internal stakeholders. The team held their responsibilities throughout the process, providing support until the final product was delivered. I saw the hard work they put into the project and will not be happy until the client is satisfied and would be willing to go the extra mile to deliver the urgent/adhoc requirements. I would want to work with them on future projects!
